Our Team is Expanding
We are looking to hire a full-time Senior Human Factors Engineer/Usability Specialist with at least 4 years of work experience. Experience in healthcare and/or medical devices is strongly preferred. This position is hybrid with 1-2 days per week expected in our office in Lowell, MA (on average). Travel is also required to conduct research studies.
Responsibilities

Conduct human factors and user research activities as needed to support client projects. This may include:

Contextual inquiry, usability testing, online surveys, interviews, etc.

Developing research plans/protocols and discussion guides.

Managing third-party suppliers such as recruiters and test facilities.

Analyzing data and preparing reports.

Conducting risk analyses.

Preparing usability documentation for medical device clients.

Manage projects, including directing team members, client communications, scheduling activities, managing budget, and quality assurance.

Interface directly with internal team members, clients, and vendors to execute human factors activities and create high-quality deliverables.

Assist in business development efforts by attending sales calls and scoping and writing proposals.

Stay up to date on medical device regulatory expectations.
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

Bachelor’s degree or higher in human factors, usability, design research, industrial design, or a related field, plus at least 4 years of experience working in industry.

Experience with usability test planning and moderation.

Experience conducting other types of user research such as contextual inquiry, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and survey design.

Strong data analysis skills, to turn observations into user requirements and design recommendations.

Knowledge of U.S. and EU medical device standards, guidance, and regulations (preferred).

Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
