Instructional Design

Although it would be ideal if products did not require instructions, the fact is that user manuals, instructions for use (IFUs), quick reference guides (QRGs) and labeling are an important part of the user experience. In the medical device world, they are considered parts of the user interface because they reduce use errors and risk. We use an iterative approach to designing instructional materials in parallel with the design of the product or system itself, by understanding the audience through research, designing to their reading level, and multiple rounds of testing and refinement.

Result: Instructional materials that are easy to understand and meet regulatory requirements.
